Second University Lake Field TripOur second sampling trip to University Lake (October 28) is timed to occur following the initial period of fall turnover. We will conduct the same measurements and analyses as during the first trip to the lake. These data will be used in the second lab report. In this report, students will not only analyze the data collected during this trip, but also will compare lake conditions during stratification and following turnover. The weather in late October can be quite variable and may even be cold. Dress appropriately!

Lab Report #2 For the 2nd lab report students will graph the selected data from the 2nd University Lake trip (UNIV Lake205.xls) as with first lab report. Review the specific graphing instructions in the Lab Manual. Do NOT re-graph the September data. If you want to refer to those earlier data in this report, attach your graphs of the September data as an Appendix. In this report, you should assess the condition of University Lake when we sampled it on October 28, 2005. Then compare and contrast the September and October data sets. We will maintain the text limit of approximately 8 pages, double-spaced. You may prepare additional figures or tables to support your discussion as needed. Plankton data from 2nd University Lake Trip are here Plankton Trip #2 : Use the same graphing instructions as for Lab Report #1, but plot the highlighted species in this second data set. This lab report is due in Bill Jones' mailbox in SPEA 340 by 5:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2005. |
